FAQ

Sales and Repair Warranty Terms

At our store, we prioritize a hassle-free experience for our customers, which is why we offer a 1-year warranty on all watches. This comprehensive warranty covers functional and restoration defects, ensuring that any issues are resolved promptly and at no additional cost to the customer, except shipping. However, it does not cover damage caused by misuse or neglect, additional watchmakers or UN-trained persons entering a watch and/or watch mechanism previously restored by Delray Beach Vintage Watches. Additionally, while we replace seals and crowns on some watches, and refurbish watches, we do not guarantee waterproofing or water resistance due to the vintage age of all of our watches for sale or repair, unless explicitly stated in the product listing. If you have any concerns, feel free to reach out and we’ll be happy to assist you.

FAQ

We aim to restore watches to their original specifications, resulting in OEM-like accuracy. However, accuracy can vary depending on the particular watch, brand, and era, with older brands and models having different standards. Additionally, many vintage watches dating back to the 1930’s have inherent idiosyncrasies and original manufacturing limits (ex: ” “not adjusted” to multiple position at manufacture design”) of their time of production in history.  Generally, we strive to achieve an accuracy of within 10 seconds per day for most watches post 1960, with some older pieces tolerating a slightly larger margin of 15+ seconds per day, caliber dependent.

We work on certain movement calibers and do not limit our work by brand names.

Back in the greatest era of watchmaking, many movement manufacturers produced calibers that were not tied to specific brand names. These ebauche manufacturers, comprising skilled watchmakers and designers, supplied movements to prominent brands while also offering variations in finishing and build quality to other companies. For instance, the Zenith El Primero Fast Beat is a notable example, as it was produced by Zenith for Zenith watches, while the slow-beat variant was also produced by Zenith for use in the Rolex’s Daytona. At our workshop, we work on both movements and calibers, regardless of brand name.

Your watch will be carefully packed and shipped to you usually via the postal service registered mail for USA customers, which includes tracking and signature options to ensure a smooth and secure delivery. International shipping is usually DHL with insurance, tracking, and signature upon arrival. If you have a specific shipping preference, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Additionally, please note that for foreign customers, taxes may apply upon receipt of the watch in your country, please check with your countries import / export policies. We are not responsible for lost international shipments. Buyer and repair customers please carefully follow the tracking of your watch. Your claim of loss or damage of a watch will be with the shippers, carriers, and their logistics, and not Delray Beach Vintage Watches.

We feel we have priced our fully restored watches properly according to the elevated details we work within.

We are NOT resellers who claim to have “recently overhauled” their watch. We repair those watches all the time fresh from the purchaser.

We do proper repair & restorations according to Swiss standards by Swiss certified Master Watchmakers. Work is not rushed as we don’t work for resellers. Our work is held to the highest form of traditionally trained & schooled in Switzerland certified watchmaking practices, and according to Swiss norms.

We aim to push the vintage watch world quality of watchmaking a bit higher.

During restoration we examine and test watches that were previously manufactured as “water resistant”. When necessary we replace all gaskets and o rings, laser weld pitting in gasket channels, grind to OEM and re lap case channels to bring these watches back to OEM ratings.

However, due to the age of vintage watches we can not guaranty water resistance. We will advise your particular watch has passed our dry and wet test with a printout of end result. Customer care is at your own risk.

There is no such thing as a water proof watch.
